I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Antwerp university (Belgium). I have defended my PhD thesis in French linguistics in 2007 at the university of Montpellier, France. My doctoral work investigated the semantics and pragmatics of the French imperfective tense (the imparfait). In 2008-2009 I have been teaching French linguistics as a teaching assistant in the department of French literature of Sud - Toulon Var university (France).
In 2009-2011, my research at Antwerp university was funded by a two-year Marie Curie Fellowship and focused on the interaction between (grammatical) aspect and modality within a set of European languages (French, Spanish, Italian, English, German and Dutch).
My current project within Antwerp's Center for Grammar, Cognition and Typology explores the semantic evolution of tenses from Old French and the historical mechanisms of semantic change at stake. This research is financed by a postdoctoral scholarship granted by the Flemish Research Council (FWO).
