GIBET : Groupement Interuniversitaire du Benelux des Economistes du Transport

The  Benelux Interuniversity Association of Transport Economists - BIVEC-GIBET - brings together lecturers, academics, researchers and policy makers from both government departments and the business community, all involved in transport economy. BIVEC's objective is to promote cooperation in the field between educational and research institutions in the Benelux through the organisation of joint activities. Founded in 1978, originally as a group of professors in transport economics, this non-profit making international association has expanded to form a large and solid network of experts which is unique of its kind.

The last edition of the joint Benelux - Bivec/Gibet day took place on Octobre, 16, 2008 in Brussels. The choosen theme for this year was "Transport Safety". This was the third edition of this joint event. After "Transport and Energy" in 2006 and "Transport and Land Use" in 2007, the 2008 edition again proposed a cross-platform where administrations and scientists have the opportunity to discuss an important transport related theme.
