Welcome to my homepage! My overarching research interest is how animals (including humans) move. That is very general, so in my work I focus on musculo-skeletal biomechanics, with evolutionary aspects always (at least) in the back of my mind. I am particulary interested in: the evolution of bipedality in early hominins, using human subjects and primate "models" terrestrial and arboreal locomotion in hominoid primates biomechanics of the human shod and unshod foot locomotion and plantar pressure distribution in mammals Currently, I am working on a European Research Project "Locomorph", trying to address how animals deal with functional morphological changes in the broad sense (i.e. changes in pedality, gait transitions, coordination due to anatomical handicaps). I am also coordinating Biodynamics Research at the Centre for Research and Conservation. I'm interested in other things than work too, e.g. photography, travel, sports and music.
