GRAMIS research: Gabriele Diewald works on the grammaticalization of modality, evidentiality, modal particles and discourse phenomena and on the relation between grammaticalization and (inter)sub-jectification. The approach is predominantly diachronic and has a focus on the diachronic stages of German.

GRAMIS research: Anne Jäger works on grammati-calization and (inter)subjectification in German. She uses corpus data from Old High German and Middle High German.
