Luzia Helfer is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Political Science at the University of Leiden, Netherlands, and member of the M2P research group since October 2011. Her PhD project aims to provide a deeper insight into the agenda-setting power of the media in politics as well as the power of politicians to set the media agenda. This is a sub-project of a larger study funded by the Dutch Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) running under the title “Beyond agenda-setting: Towards a better understanding of the power relationship between politicians and journalists” by Dr. Peter van Aelst. The project is expected to run until 2015.
