Rosa van Santen is postdoctoral research fellow at the Leiden University, Institute of Political Science, on the project Beyond Agenda-setting: Towards a better understanding of the power relationship between politicians and journalists. This is a comparative study on the reciprocal relationship between media and politics. On 26 Juni 2012 she succesfully defended her PhD dissertation at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR), University of Amsterdam, on the project "Popularization & Personalization. A Historical and Cultural Analysis of 50 years of Dutch Political Television Journalism", in which she traces processes of popularization and personalization, describes their forms and formats, and explains their emergence at particular moments in time.
