Joeri Veen

 

Joeri Veen is a Ph.D. candidate involved in a Vidi-project on comparative Media and Politics as of September 2011. The project, called "Beyond Agenda Setting: Towards a better understanding of the power relationship between politicians and journalists", is lead by Dr. Peter van Aelst and consists of comparative research on the interaction and mutual influence between journalist and the political elite and the impact thereof on the political agenda. In addition to his contribution to the general project, Joeri's Ph.D. research focuses on a number of specific in-depth case studies. His research interests are (among others): political communication, media effects, political psychology, political marketing, and political campaigning. He studied Political Science between 2005 and 2008, followed by the MA Political Science specialisation 'Behavior and Communication' in the academic year 2009 - 2010. From September 2010 'till August 2011 he was communications officer and webeditor of the Institute of Political Science and President of the University Council.
