SKYSCAN 1072
HIGH RESOLUTION in vitro X-RAY MICROTOMOGRAPH
The SKYSCAN 1072 is a compact desktop system for non-destructive high resolution X-ray microscopy and
microtomography. It consists of a combination of a X-ray shadow microscopic system and a tomographic reconstruction package, software and computer.
This system allows to make a non-destructive 3-D reconstruction of the objects inner microstucture from 2-dimensional X-ray shadow projections.
Specifications:
The x-ray microfocus tube operates at 20-80 kV and max. 100 uA.
The special X-ray CCD-camera is based on a 768x560 pixels CCD-sensor with lens coupling to an X-ray scintillator.
The X-ray shadow projections are digitised as 1024x1024 pixels with 256 gradations (8 bit).
The reconstructed cross-sections have a 1024x1024 (or 2048x2048, 512x512, 256x256… ) pixels (float point) format.
SKYSCAN 1076
in vivo X-RAY MICROTOMOGRAPH
The SKYSCAN 1076 is a compact desktop system for IN VIVO X-ray microscopy and microtomography. With this instrument we can acquire transmission images, reconstruct cross sections through the object, measure internal numerical parameters and generate images of the 3-D microstructure in normal environmental condition and without special sample preparation.
With the 1076 we can scan large samples (up to 65mm diameter) and living animals such as mice, rats, birds (finches, starlings,...)
Specifications:
The X-ray source is a sealed X-ray tube 20-100kV, spot size <5µm, 10W
The X-ray detector has 4000x2672pixels, 12bit, fiber-optically coupled to scintillator
Scanning volume max 68mm diam., max. 200mm scannable length with a single scan length of 20mm
Spatial resolution : <9µm pixel size, <15µm low-contrast resolution (10%MTF)
Reconstructed slices 1Kx1K to 8Kx8K pixels, 9µm/18µm/35µm selectable pixel size
Radiation safety : <1µSv/h at any point on the instrument surface during scanning
