MATERIALS & ENGINEERING SCIENCES
X-ray microtomography is successfully used in several studies of materials.
However on solid metal parts the X-rays are reflected and not absorbed.
And so it is always difficult, sometimes impossible, to have good scanning results with specimens that contain metal parts.
In all other cases it generally requires very little preparation before scanning.
And because micro-CT is a non-destructive technique, after scanning, the specimen can be used for further investigations.
If you are interested : make an appointment and together we will discuss the possibilities and eventually perform a pilot study.
