JOB OPPORTUNITIES

MULTIMAT focuses
on "Multiscale modelling and characterisation for phase transitions of advanced materials" from a very broad perspective, embracing recent developments in applied mathematics, thermodynamics, ab-initio computations, materials modelling and materials characterisation. It provides excellent training and research opportunities for young researchers in mathematics, computer science, physics, materials science and engineering, including special training courses and exchange programmes with young researchers in the other network teams.

MULTIMAT offers
a total of 600 research-months, evenly distributed over all European teams, i.e. each team has 60 research-months or 5 research-years to offer. Following the guidelines of the Marie Curie Research Training Networks, the envisaged balance between Early Stage (i.e. pre-doc) and Experienced (i.e. mostly post-doc) Researchers is 3/2. In most cases, long stays are preferred but this can vary from team to team.

Early Stage Researchers are encouraged to engage in a Ph.D. research programme with the team in which they are hired. Also, the EU aims at increasing the number of female scientists in fields where under represented. Therefore, women are particularly encouraged to apply.

The list of currently available positions and short research descriptions can be consulted at the pages of the respective teams. More information can be obtained from the respective team leaders.

Important:

the conditions on eligibility for these positions are defined in the Handbook of the Marie Curie Research Training Networks. A copy of the relevant pages are given here as downloadable RTNeligibility.pdf. More extended information as well as an on-line eligibility test is available at the EU site
