A
common species throughout Belgium.
The
young larva lives in a flat bivalved case, and feeds on dead leaves,
especially Quercus and Betula. Pupation inside the
case.
The
adults fly from mid April till the beginning of June. Male moths
are active in sunshine, and swarm around the tops of trees and bushes,
while females stay in the undergrowth.
