A
rare and local species in Belgium. It has his stronghold in the
province of Namur.
The larva lives on Fagus, Quercus, Prunus spinosa and Vaccinium myrtillus.
The
adults fly from mid April till end of May. The moths are active in the afternoon and at dusk. They come occasionally to light.
ID: a little bit smaller than N. swammerdamella and differs in external characters from all other Nematopogon species without tornal spot and strongly developed reticulate pattern on the forewings by the strongly ringed antennae.
