Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Choreutis pariana (Clerck, 1759)

A rare species locally distributed in Belgium. Can be sometimes a pest

The larva lives mainly on Malus spp., in the leaves were it feeds on the parenchyma from the upper surface, creating a skeleton leaf appearance. It also takes other foodplants like Sorbus and Crataegus.

The adults fly in two generation per year: in July and during September. The moths of the second generation overwinters and reappear in spring. They are active during the day.
