A
fairly common species in Belgium.
The
larva feeds on Quercus
and lives in a distinctive pistolshaped case made of greyish silk.
Pupation in the case, usually on the upperside of a leaf, less often on
the underside or on a twig.
The
adults fly in one generation a year; during July and August. The adults come sparingly to light.
