An
uncommon species in Belgium, mainly occuring on dry calcareous or sandy
soils.
The
larva lives in a composite leaf case made from hairy leaf fragments of
mainly Anchusa
officinalis and Echium vulgare but
also
on Cynoglossum,
Lithospernum,
Myosotis
and Pulmonaria.
The final case resembles a willow catkin. It hibernates.
The
adults fly in one generation a year; onwards from late May till July.
The come to light.
