An uncommon species in Belgium, but as with many others probably overlooked.

The larva feeds by eating the seeds of young seedpods of Melilotus. When the seedpod is empty it serve as a case and attaches it securely with silk to a second pod. When the second pod is empty, the two in tandem are attached to a third pod. So a number of seedpods are attacked in this manner. It overwinters fully fed in the case at ground level in ground detritus.

The adults fly in one generation a year during June and July. The adults are active during sunshine and can been seen running rapidly up and down the stems of its food plant. Later they comes to light.
