A rather local species in the southern part Belgium.

The larva feeds from a greyish black composite leaf case on Pyrola and Vaccinium vitis-idaea. It has a two-year life cycle. It pupates in the case, often attached to the upperside of a leaf.

The adults fly in one generation a year; from late May onwards till early July.
