Phragmataecia castaneae (Hübner, 1790)

A rare species in Belgium, only found in the northern part, mainly in the Kempen region.

The larva feeds in the stems of Phragmites australis. Hibernates twice as larva.

The adults fly from late May till late July. They come to light.
