Zeuzera pyrina (Linnaeus, 1761)

A not so common species throughout Belgium.

The larva feeds on the wood of various deciduous trees like Sorbus. Hibernates twice as larva.

The adults fly from end of May till the end of August, very occasionally till late September. They come to light, males more frequently than females.
