Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Anania crocealis (Hübner, 1796)

A rather common species throughout Belgium, though populations are steadily declining.

The larva feeds in the central shoot of Pulicaria dysenterica or Inula conyzae. It hibernates in an early stage in the turned-down edge of a leaf. Pupation between some leaves of the foodplant spun together.

The adults have been observed from the end of June till mid September.
