Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Platytes cerussella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

A very local and rare species in Belgium, restricted to the coastal area and the estuarium of the river Scheldt.

The larva lives on the roots, preferring those growing under stones in sandy soil, of Festuca or other Gramineae.

The adults fly in June and July. They are active at dusk and later come to light.

Belgium, West-Vlaanderen, Koksijde, 17 June 2005.
