A
common immigrant in Belgium, establishing temporary populations.
The
larva is very polyphagous on herbaceous plants, notably Stachys,
Eupatorium and Fragaria vesca. When young it lives
in a turned-down leaf, later on between two spun leaves. Pupation
in a cocoon in a partially cut section of the leaf.
The
adults have been observed in almost any month of the year, but most
in autumn. Moths can be observed visiting ripe blackberries, ivy-bloom,
and flowers such as Succisa. They come to light.
