Agonopterix alstromeriana (Clerck, 1759)

A very rare species in Belgium.

The larva lives on Conium maculatum. It feeds in leaflets rolled upwards into tubes, later sometimes among fruits and flowers. It pupates amongst detritius or in earth.

The adults fly from late July till May, hibernating in dense cover, outhouses etc... They are active during the night and occasionally come to light..
