Agonopterix arenella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

A rather common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives in a leaf rolled downwards on Centaurea, Carduus, Arctium or Serratula. It pupates in a cocoon amongst detritus on the ground.

The adults fly from August till early June. They hibernate. They come to light and sugar.
