Agonopterix propinquella (Treitschke, 1835)

A rather common species in most areas of Belgium.

The young larva mines the leaf, and later it lives in a slight web on the underside of the leaves of Cirsium vulgare or C. arvense. Pupation in autumn in the feeding place or in a cocoon in the earth.

The adults fly from September till July of the following year. They hibernate.
