A very rare and local species in Belgium, only known from very old records in the southern provinces. Recently (2006) observed again in Namur. Seldom recorded.

The larva lives in a loose upper-surface silk spinning of a leaf of Daucus carota, Torilis japonica, Anthriscus sylvestris and Chaerophyllum temulum.

The adults fly in one long generation a year; from early August till late November and after hibernating again from March till May. They are active at night and occasionally come to light.
