Habrosyne pyritoides (Hufnagel, 1766)

A fairly common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on Rubus. Hibernates as pupa in a loose cocoon among debris.

The adults fly in one generation a year; from mid May till the end of August. A partial second generation occurs sometimes during September but it' s rare. They come to light and sugar.
