Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Sabra harpagula (Esper, 1786)

A very local and very rare species in Belgium, only recorded from a few localities in the extreme south in the Luxembourg. Seems to be declining during the last years.

The larva lives on Tilia cordata. Hibernates as pupa in a thin and sturdy cocoon in a folded leaf.

The adults fly in June and July. They sometimes come to light.
