Eriocrania sparrmannella (Bosc, 1791)

A local species in Belgium, confined to sandy areas.

The larva lives in a leaf mine on Betula. The species hibernates in the pupal stage.

The adults fly from March till May. They are active during sunshine and occasionally come to light.
