First observation of this species in Belgium was on 14 June 2003 in the province of Antwerpen and on 18 July 2004 for the province Limburg. Hitherto only recorded in this two provinces. A rare species in Europe.

The larva makes a large blotch-mine in the leaves of Iris spp.

The adults fly in June-July. They sometimes come to light.
