Platyedra subcinerea (Haworth, 1828)

A very rare species in Belgium, but as with many members of this family, probably underrecorded.

The larva lives on the seeds and flowers of Malva sylvestris. Hibernating as an adult.

The adults fly from August onwards and after overwintering reappearing in spring. They come to light.
