Aplocera plagiata (Linnaeus, 1758)

A rare but widespread species in Belgium.

The larva lives on Hypericum perforatum. Hibernates as larva and pupates underground.

The adults fly in two, sometimes three generations a year: from April till  late September. They are active from dusk onwards and later come to light.
