Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Perizoma bifaciata (Haworth, 1809)

A very rare and local species in Belgium. Only observed in five provinces, mainly in the north and the south of the country.

The larva lives inside the seed capsules of Odontites. Hibernates as a pupa, sometimes it may overwinter more than once.

The adults fly in one generation a year; from mid July till end of August. They are active from dusk onwards and later come sparsely to light.
