A
common species throughout Belgium.
The
larvae feed on Alnus glutinosa, when young, in an irregular
epidermal mine on the upperside of a leaf, later rolling a leaf
downwards longitudinally, in two such spinnings. Pupation in a silken
membrane, usually on the underside of a leaf.
The
adults fly in two generations a year: in June, and again from late
August till April. They hibernate in evergreen trees. They come
to light.
