Caloptilia stigmatella (Fabricius, 1781)

A common species throughout Belgium.

The larvae feed on Populus and Salix. Pupation under a silk membrane on the underside of a leaf.

There are 2 generation per year in favourable years. The adults hibernate. They fly from August till May, but a second generation may occur in June-July.
