A
common species in Belgium.
The
larvae feed usually on Crataegus but occasionally also on Mespilus, Sorbus aucuparia, Fragaria and Cotoneaster. Initially in a
small Phyllonorycter-like mine with a brown lower epidermis. Later in two or more successive
cones constructed by folding the leaf-lobes downwards. Pupation in that folded
leaf edge or on leaf litter.
The
adults fly in two generations a year; during April and May and again during August.
They come to light.
