Phyllonorycter cerasicolella (Herrich-Schäffer, 1855)

A fairly common species in Belgium. 

The larva lives in a tentiform mine on the underside on a variety of cultivated and wild Prunus species, rarely on MalusThe mine is usually situated between two veins, without clear folds. The larva pupates inside the mine and hibernates.

The adults fly in two perhaps three generations a year; onwards from late April till June and again in August They are mainly active at dusk and come to light.
