A not so common species in Belgium.
The
larva makes an oval mine on the underside of Salix caprea.
Its fairly large, variously positioned on the leaf, the upper surface
strongly puckered and the underside covered by small creases, but often
being hidden by the leaf hairs. Pupation inside the mine in a golden brown pupa in a large golden silken cocoon. The pupa of the second generation hibernates.
The
adults fly in two generations a year; during May and June and again in August. They come to light.
