Phyllonorycter harrisella (Linnaeus, 1761)


A common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on Quercus. It makes a small, round mine between two veins on the underside of the leaf. Pupation inside the mine. The pupa of the second generation hibernates.

The adults fly in two generations a year; during  April and May and again in August and September. They come to light.
