A fairly common species in Belgium.
The
larva lives on Alnus glutinosa or Alnus incana. It makes a small,
round mine between two veins on the underside of the leaf. Pupation
inside the mine. The pupa hibernates.
It
is not clear whether there are two generations per year or just one.
The adults have been observed from the end of April till the end of
August, most commonly in the second half of May.
