A
rather common species throughout Belgium. It prefers hot areas on sandy
biotopes.
The
larva makes long mines on the underside of Quercus, preferably
seedlings of up to 1m high. Sometimes, all the leaves of young trees
contain mines, and several mines may occupy one leaf, contorting it
very much.
The
adults fly in two generations a year: May and
August.
