Phyllonorycter populifoliella (Treitschke, 1833)


An uncommon species in Belgium.

The larva lives on Populus. It makes a small, oval mine between two veins on the underside of the leaf. Pupation inside the mine. The pupa of the second generation hibernates.

The adults fly in two generations a year; in April-May and in August-September.
