Catalogue
of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Phyllonorycter sagitella (Bjerkander, 1790)

A rare species in Belgium.

The larva lives on Populus tremula, especially on saplings. It makes sometimes an irregular but more often a more or less circular, often reddish coloured  mine on the underside of the leaf.

The adults fly in two generations a year: in April-May and again in August-September.
