A
fairly common species in Belgium.
The
larva lives on Alnus
incana.
The long mine is on the underside of the leaf, between veins, narrow
and close to the midrib, often several mines in one leaf.
Pupation in a white cocoon. The pupa of the second generation
hibernates.
The
adults fly in two generations a year: onwards from mid April
till May and again from late July towards August. They come to
light.
