A
common species throughout Belgium.
The
larva makes a blotch-mine on the underside of the leaves of Betula.
It pupates in a cocoon inside the mine. The pupa of the second
generation hibernates.
The
adults fly in two generations a year: May and August.
ID
mine: small mine (about 10-15mm) on underside of birch leaf, lower
cuticle greenish, turning brown with age and lower epidermis with 1 - 6
folds.
