A
not so common species in Belgium, only known from the northern half of
our country.
The
larva makes a silvery long and sinuous gallery with a dark central
frass trail, ending at the leaf margin, usually on the upper surface of
Populus alba
and P. canescens. Pupation in a
cocoon under a silk membrane in the leafmargin, which folds over it.
The
adults fly in two generations in July and again from late August till
September.
