Korscheltellus lupulinus (Linnaeus, 1758)

A not so common species throughout Belgium.

The larva lives on the roots of grasses and small herbaceous plants. Eggs are simply dropped over suitable habitat, while the female is in flight. Hibernates as larva several times and pupates in the ground.

The adults fly from mid May till the end of June. They are active at dusk and later come to light.
