Eriogaster catax (Linnaeus, 1758)

A very rare and very local species in Belgium, only known from the province of Namur.

The larva lives on Crataegus and Prunus, occasionally also on other deciduous trees like Betula, Pyrus, Populus, Ulmus and Berberis.

The adults fly in October. They come to light.
