A
very rare and very local species in Belgium, only known from a few localities
in the southern provinces. Declining!
The
larva lives on Crataegus and Prunus spinosa. On most
occasions the larvae feed gregariously from a communal silken web. Hibernates as pupa several times.
The
adults fly from late February till early April. They are active at night and come to light.
