of the Lepidoptera of Belgium

Lemonia dumi (Linnaeus, 1761)

Known from literature from 2 provinces and some older records in the south of Belgium, this species is  very rare and local. It was observed again early November 2011 in the province of Namur.

The larva lives on lower plants such as Taraxacum, Achillea, Hieracium and Cichorium. Hibernates as an egg. Pupates in a chamber underground.

The adults have been observed during October. They are active during the day.
